Today we decided to do a bit of spring cleaning in the cafe and rearrange all things that are needed to be rearranged. Those who came were namely me, Julie, Rishi, Kecik, Roland, Am and Syafiq. Actually at first we planned to do a brainstorming session before anything else but instead we went straight to clean the kitchen area. Am and Syafiq were responsible for the cold kitchen side while the rest were at the hot kitchen side. We cleaned and arranged the crockery, pots and pans to be in order. Now the kitchen is-we can safely say-looking like a real kitchen..Being organized and all...hahah
News of our catering service reached to the ears of the current Persatuan Sindrom Down Malaysia(PSDM) President(my mother). She asked whether Embun Cafe could cater for an event on Sunday the first of March. We are still deliberating on the matter because we still need to gauge our capabilities but it is a good opportunity for us to make money. Hopefully everything goes well.
This ends my report for the day. Tommorow hopefully we can settle a few more stuff.

Embun Catering??
Yesterday, Embun Cafe catered for an event held by the UniTAR Chinese Student Association(UCSA). The order was Fried Mee and Bihun and two cases of drinks for 50 pax. Beforehand we didn't really know how to make both of the dishes, so last Sunday we decided to try and cook both of the dishes. The result was encouraging. We are now able to cook Fried Mee and Bihun which is great because other than the fact that we are able to cater for the UCSA event or any other event that wants these two dishes, we are actually thinking to add few 'heavy' menu for our breakfast line-up. So we are now able to cook Nasi Lemak, Fried Mee and Fried Bihun. If this continues, we can build our menu up and not have the same thing day after day.
While clearing up after the event had finished, we were approached by a student who wanted to know more on the catering. He was from the 'Khidmat Masyarakat' class. He was asking whether we could make Nasi Ayam for 45 pax. I was thinking, "Hmmm we might have something here". Nturally the catering business if profitable and if we could add that up to our daily sales it would be great.
hahah till next time then

This might be our best route in business!!
